It was the story of Adonis and Venus. Venus fell into love with Adonis at first sight. Adonis was a beautiful youth. He was a cowboy. But he had not only to take care of the cattle in his pasturage but also to give his time to a doe in the jungle. Because Adonis also loved Venus very much. They met together every evening in the jungle, which was inside of his pasturage and talked of their love.
One evening of the spring, Adonis went to the forest to meet his lover. Then the whole nature arranged herself with all her beauty. But unnaturally the weather was very bad. It seemed that the air, the trees all were springing up with the coming of spring.
However, when Adonis saw Venus waiting on the top of the hill his eyes forgot to shut their eyelids. How beautiful she was! He became emotional and could no longer keep silent. He called her with the words of love and said, “Oh, the stream of my heart! Make me a stone with your magic stick. Then fall on and flow over me.” Venus came down on the earth and put of her wings. Then she said, “Oh, my sweet heart! Don’t tell this. I don’t want to be a stream where you are a stone. If you want to be a stone, I will be a moss on you.”
-No, you can’t be a simple thing like this. You are my rose, make me a tub under you.
-No, my lover, I don’t want to be a rose. When you hold me, I can’t hit you with my thorns.
-Oh, the queen of beauty, yes I want this, I want this at any cost. Hurt me! Love me! Embrace me!
-Oh, my dear! How great your love is for me!
-No my heart! I don’t want to insult your love to say my love greater than yours. But I want to say that though I love you with all my heart, it seems to me very little for you. The sun will set, the moon will rise and also set. But my love for you will stay forever. The sun is true, but it sets. My love is true, but it never sets. My love is truer than the sun, than everything.
Venus wanted to say something. But soon a storm began. The air, the trees, the leaves all were quarrelling to each other. The sky became reddish. Suddenly the storm became more terrible. Adonis embraced Venus strongly. But a long tree was broken down on Adonis. But it could not do any harm to Venus. Venus cried out for her lover. Soon the storm stopped. Venus found Adonis dead that broke her heart. She cried out with sorrow, “Why did you fall on my heart, the old, cruel tree?” Suddenly a strange voice told her, “When you were talking of love to each other, all flowers of my branches bloomed and heard your talking. For this, I became heavy. I couldn’t keep myself standing when the storm began. Then Venus said, “All right. Now it is the time of my death. Because, I am also heavy with so much grief.” Venus took Adonis in her arms and put on her wings. Then she went near the sky with her wings. She saw that the sky was blue and clear. She cried out, “Why are you so gentle now? Why did you become so cruel then?” An another voice said, “Forgive me! To remove my red I took the blue of your love and make myself blue again. Oh! How vast your love for each other!” Venus angrily said, “Cruel fellow, stay with your blue. I don’t want to fly over you.” Venus put off her wings, though she was in the sky. She fell down in the vast sea with Adonis.
